Publish and share a survey

Publish the survey to open it for responses, share the link through your own channels and shape the respondent experience with consent, anonymity and going-back settings.

5 min

Publish the survey

  1. 1Click “Publish” in the builder and confirm.
  2. 2If issues to fix are listed (for example a choice question missing options), fix them and try again.
  3. 3The published survey's status becomes “Active” and the share link starts accepting responses.

How versions work

  • Each publish creates a new version, such as v1 and v2.
  • Changes you make in the builder after publishing are saved but do not reach respondents until you click “Publish” again. Publish again for changes on the Settings tab as well.
  • Respondents always see the latest published version.
  • Each response is stored with the version it was given on. When exporting, add the “Survey version” column to tell apart responses to different versions.
  • There is no screen for restoring an older version.

Survey statuses

  • Draft: a survey that has not been published yet.
  • Active: a published survey that accepts responses.
  • Paused: a survey temporarily stopped with “Pause” on its detail page. “Resume” opens it to responses again.
  • Closed: a survey whose response collection was ended with “Close”.
  • Archived: a survey that has been archived.

Copy the share link

  1. 1Find the “Share Link” field on the survey's detail page. The link starts with https://app.yousurvey.com.tr/s/.
  2. 2Click “Copy” to put the link on your clipboard.
  3. 3Share the link with your own email tool, on your website or on your social media accounts.

YouReply Survey does not send invitation emails, and there is no QR code or website embed option. You distribute the link through your own channels.

Tell channels apart with URL parameters

  1. 1Add a “Hidden Field” to the survey; set its source to “URL parameter” and the parameter name to utm_source.
  2. 2Publish the survey again.
  3. 3Add a different value to the end of the link for each channel, for example ?utm_source=email and ?utm_source=linkedin.
  4. 4The value from the link a respondent used is written into their response and appears in the exported file.

Respondent experience settings

These settings are on the builder's “Settings” tab, in the “Response Behavior” section.

  • “Consent text (optional)”: if filled in, respondents see a “Participation Consent” screen before starting and choose “I have read and agree” or “Decline”.
  • “Anonymous responses”: the IP address and location are not stored. If you added a Meta info element, browser information is still recorded.
  • “Allow going back”: lets respondents return to earlier pages.
  • The “One response per participant” switch is not a guarantee against duplicate responses; see the Response limits and screening guide for details.
