Online survey builder: from question design to data export

YouReply Survey is a browser-based survey tool for designing your questionnaire, building the path each participant follows, publishing with a single link and downloading responses as Excel or CSV files. This page sets out plainly what the product does today and what it does not.

30+ question types and validation rules

The question palette is organized into six groups. Sections and Blocks keep long questionnaires tidy, and you can define validation rules for each question as you build.

  • Choice

Single choice, yes/no, multiple choice, dropdown, multi-select dropdown, ranking, image choice, constant sum and a consent checkbox for privacy notices.

  • Scale

Rating, Likert scale, NPS, slider and slider grid, side-by-side questions, matrix variants and ready-made CSAT and CES questions.

  • Input

Short text, long text, number, email, phone, URL, date, date and time, time, date range, form fields and an address form.

  • Advanced

Heat map, text highlight, conjoint, MaxDiff, card sort, file upload, signature, hidden field and meta info.

  • Content and media

Text blocks, subheadings, images, YouTube or Vimeo videos, dividers, spacers and HTML blocks let you place instructions between questions.

  • Validation

Required fields; minimum and maximum characters, values and selections; exclusive options; constant sum totals; automatic email and URL format checks; custom error messages. Answers are validated again on the server when submitted.

Conditional logic, flow and randomization

Use rules to decide which questions each participant sees and in what order, then test the path before you publish.

  • Logic rules

On the Logic tab you write rules with AND/OR condition groups and sub-groups, using 11 operators such as equals, greater than and is answered. Actions are Jump to page, Jump to end, Disqualify, and Show or Hide for a question, page or section. Each rule can be switched on or off, and Rule check helps you find faulty rules.

  • Flow Map

The map on the Flow tab shows your survey as welcome, page, thank-you and disqualification nodes. Dragging a connection on the map creates a jump rule.

  • Path test

Pick answers yourself and see which pages a participant would pass through; Answer at random quickly tries different paths.

  • Randomization

Shuffle, rotate, reverse or show a subset of page items, fields within a block, option order and matrix rows and columns. Anchored items stay in place, randomization is seeded per response or per participant, and the order shown is stored with the response.

  • Blocks and question pools

A Block groups questions into one unit. With How many to show? you present each participant with only a set number of questions from a pool. MaxDiff and conjoint designs are also generated per participant.

Publishing, sharing and collecting responses

  • Preview

Preview mode opens the survey the way participants will see it and saves no responses.

  • Publish and versions

Every publish freezes a version (v1, v2…). Participants always get the latest published version, draft edits go live only when you publish again, and each response keeps the version it came from.

  • Share link and Hidden Field

A survey goes live at a single address that you copy from the Share Link and share yourself on any channel. A Hidden Field writes a URL parameter you add to the link (for example utm_source) or a fixed value into the response.

  • Response limits

Max Responses counts completed responses and closes the survey to new participants once reached. Start Date and End Date set the collection window, and the Disqualify action screens out participants who do not meet your criteria.

  • Screens and design

Edit the Welcome Screen and Thank You Screen and optionally redirect participants to your own address afterwards. There are 19 themes, 9 layouts and options for colors, backgrounds and fonts; logo and brand settings are available to organization accounts.

  • Participant experience

Surveys are responsive web pages that open in phone, tablet and desktop browsers. You can allow going back and show a Participation Consent screen with optional consent text. A partly completed survey can be resumed in the same browser.

Monitoring and exporting responses

The Responses tab is for keeping track of fieldwork; you download the raw data as a file.

  • Overview figures: Total Responses, Completed, Completion Rate and Avg. Time.
  • Response table: status for each row (started, in progress, completed, abandoned, disqualified), submission time and duration; expand a row to see the answers and the time spent on each question.
  • Excel (.xlsx) export: next to the responses sheet, a codebook sheet lists every question, its type and which label each option code stands for.
  • CSV (UTF-8) export.
  • Answer, answer code, time on question and answer time columns for every question.
  • Response number, status, start, completion, total time and survey version for every response; for non-anonymous surveys also IP address, country and time zone.
  • An option to export completed responses only.

Team, access and privacy

  • Account and product roles

Accounts have Owner, Billing, Admin and Member roles; the product has Admin, Editor and Viewer roles. Teams, workspaces and identity settings are used in organization accounts.

  • Enterprise single sign-on

After verifying their domain with a DNS record, organization accounts can set up single sign-on with SAML 2.0 or OIDC; sign-in is routed to the organization's identity provider based on the email domain.

  • Audit log

Account owners and admins can follow actions taken in the account on the audit log screen.

  • Anonymous responses

With anonymous responses on, IP address and location are not stored. If you add a meta info question, a hidden field or questions that ask for identity, responses can still become linkable to a person.

What YouReply Survey does not do

YouReply Survey designs and publishes surveys, collects responses and exports the raw data. Statistical analysis happens in YouReply Analyze, coding of open-ended answers in YouReply Qualitative and review of customer feedback in YouReply Intelligence. Email invitations, QR codes, website embeds, an API or webhooks, new-response notifications and multilingual surveys are not available today. Each survey is published in a single language, Turkish or English.

Frequently asked questions
