Create a survey

Start with a blank survey or a ready-made template, add questions in the builder and set the look of the survey in the Design tab.

Start with a blank survey

  1. 1In YouReply Survey, click “Create Survey”.
  2. 2Type a name in the “Survey name” field and confirm.
  3. 3The survey is created with the “Draft” status and the builder opens.

A survey's language is the interface language at the moment you create it. To build an English survey, switch the interface to English first, then create the survey. Each survey has one language; translations cannot be added and respondents are not offered a language choice.

Start from a template

  1. 1Open “Templates” from the menu. There are 48 templates in 12 categories, and you can also find one with the search box.
  2. 2Use “Preview” to see a template's content.
  3. 3Choose the Turkish or English version of the template with “Survey language”.
  4. 4Click “Use Template”. The template opens as a new survey in the language you chose, ready to edit.

Builder tabs

  • Build: the main area where you add questions, content elements, sections and blocks.
  • Logic: jump, show, hide and disqualification rules based on answers.
  • Randomization: settings for randomizing question, option and block order.
  • Flow: a flow map of the pages and a path test for trying out rules.
  • Design: themes, layouts, colors, fonts, and welcome and thank-you screens.
  • Settings: response behavior (anonymity, consent text, going back) and response limits.

Add questions and elements

Changes are saved automatically; you see “Saved” when saving is done. Click “Preview” to see the survey as a respondent would. Preview does not record responses.

  1. 1On the “Build” tab, click a question type in the palette, or drag it and drop it where you want it.
  2. 2Use the + button between cards to insert an element in place, or press ⌘K to open the field gallery.
  3. 3Select a question and edit its text, options, required setting and validation rules in its settings panel.
  4. 4Add a “Section” to group related questions under a heading: respondents see its title and it does not break the page. Use a “Block” for randomization: respondents never see it, and it shuffles the fields inside it or shows only some of them.

Design and screens

  • The “Themes” section has 19 themes; you can also change colors, backgrounds and fonts.
  • Choose from 9 layouts for how the survey pages are arranged.
  • In “Screens”, edit the “Welcome Screen” and “Thank You Screen” texts. To send respondents to another page after the survey, fill in “Redirect URL (optional)”.
  • Using your own logo and brand is available only in organization accounts. Custom CSS and custom domains for surveys are not supported.

Clone an existing survey

Instead of building a similar survey from scratch, use the “Clone” action on its row in the survey list. The copy is created as a separate survey and is edited independently.
